A 34-year-old Cork man was killed when the pick-up truck he was driving was crushed between two lorries at Nogtus, Ferbane, Co Offaly, just after 2p.m. yesterday.
According to gardai, the man had stopped behind a lorry which was allowing a tractor to turn into a field when his truck was struck from behind by a second lorry.
He was taken to Tullamore General Hospital where he was dead on arrival. His name will not be released until his relatives have been notified.
