British police were today questioning a man over the death of an Irishman who was stabbed in an unprovoked attack outside a London pub.

Thomas Breen, (50) a father of two from Downpatrick, Co Down, had been commuting to London looking for work.

He was attacked by two men outside the Oxford Arms, in Camden, on Saturday evening. He was taken by ambulance to the Royal Free Hospital, north London, where he later died.

A friend, who had been drinking with him at the pub, was also stabbed during the fight but was later released after being treated.
