Man held over Dundalk murder

A man in his 30s has been arrested in Co Louth today in relation to the murder of teenager Niall Dorr (18) last October.

A man in his 30s has been arrested in Co Louth today in relation to the murder of teenager Niall Dorr (18) last October.

The man was arrested in the Knockbridge area shortly after 8am. He is being held in Dundalk Garda station and is the ninth arrest made in connection with Mr Dorr's death.

Niall Dorr died in hospital on Friday, October 15th, two days after he sustained head and facial injuries during an assault on Castle Road in Dundalk.

Mr Dorr was with three friends walking along the road when they became involved in an altercation with another group. He was the only person to sustain any serious injury.

The victim, who was due to celebrate his 19th birthday in November, attended St Mary’s College in Dundalk. He had previously represented Ireland in the World Kickboxing Championships, winning a silver medal.
