A man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Celine Cawley (46) at her home in Howth, north Dublin, earlier this week.
He was arrested early this morning and is being detained under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act at Clontarf Garda station, a Garda statement said.
Ms Cawley was found dead on the patio of her home at Windgate Road on Monday morning.
She had been beaten on the head with a brick.
Her husband Eamonn Lillis told gardai he returned home from his morning walk with the family dog at about 10am and disturbed the attacker.
Detectives were told the killer ran from the back of the house into a laneway.
Forensic tests are still being carried out on Ms Cawley’s body.
Ms Cawley was well known in media and advertising circles in Ireland after building her Toytown Films company into one of the country’s highest-profile production houses.
Set up in 1990 by Ms Cawley, Toytown has worked with a variety of advertising agencies and had clients such as Diageo, Coca-Cola, Heineken, the National Lottery, O2 and Carlsberg.
