The 1986 legislation governing the operation of the National Lottery should be reviewed to give more funds to the voluntary sector, the Democratic Left TD, Ms Kathleen Lynch, said.

She urged the Minister for Finance, Mr Quinn, to carry out the review because the voluntary sector received only 37.2 per cent of Lottery funds, while the bulk of the money went to plug gaps in Exchequer spending.
