FIRST-TIME house-hunters will be able to search for affordable homes that are not available on the open market on a website launched yesterday.
Affordable homes - which range in price from €130,000 to €250,000 - are built by private developers and are provided at a discount to the market price.
The new website, www.affordablehome.ie, is displaying around 150 homes for sale in areas such as Dublin, Cork, Kildare, Laois, Limerick and Roscommon.
To be eligible to buy these homes applicants must be first-time buyers and earn between €25,000 and €58,000.
