Cavan 0-13 Fermanagh 1-09:Seánie Johnston's return to Tommy Carr's side saw him grab eight points against Wexford in a challenge match recently and he was inspirational again as Cavan saw off Fermanagh at Kingspabn Breffni Park to progress to the Ulster senior football semi-final.

The corner forward converted five of his side’s 19 scoring chances to upset the odds and ensure a meeting with either Antrim or Donegal.

Martin Reilly (0-04) and Cain Mackey (0-02) also got in on the act.

Fermanagh had created 24 opportunities, including Eamonn Maguire’s goal after seven minutes, but were wasteful.

Even when the returning Barry Owens and Mark Murphy were brought off the bench they were found wanting, failing to overturn a four point advantage inflicted by Cavan early in second half.

Owens got on the scoreboard as Fermanagh fought back with three unanswered points but Johnston had the last word for a one-point win.
