THE IRISH Timeshas launched a news application for iPhone users.
The app includes breaking news, sports content and access to business news.
It was made available in the Apple App Store on Saturday, and is already the top paid application in Ireland. The app, which costs €1.59, also links to Irish Timespodcasts, including business and motors.
The move is the latest development for irishtimes.com, which established a mobile site in December aimed at a wider range of phone users. It also intends to develop its mobile offering further in the future.

We have experienced strong traffic on the irishtimes.com website from iPhone users, and we are delighted that our news app is already the top paid app in Ireland," said Irish Timesmanaging director Liam Kavanagh.
"This demonstrates the demand for The Irish Timesbrand across all platforms."
