Ireland's preparations for tomorrow's make-or-break Under-21 Rugby World Cup clash with Argentina received a blow this afternoon when captain Stephen Keogh was ruled out through injury.

The UCC back-row forward withdrew from the midweek win over Scotland with a back injury, a problem that has failed to respond to treatment, ruling him out of the rest of the tournament.

His place in the squad will be taken by UL Bohemian's Jody Danahar.

Ireland, who lost to South Africa in the opening round, must beat Argentina convincingly (scoring at least four tries) at Henley and hope Wales lose heavily to South Africa to stand a chance of a top-four place.
