Ireland lock Jeremy Davidson has been ruled out of Saturday's Six Nations match with France after being injured in a club match at the weekend.

Davidson, who plays for French first division side Castres, wrenched ligaments in his left knee and broke a bone in his right hand in his team's defeat to Beziers on Saturday.

A club doctor said Davidson would be sidelined for about three weeks.Ulster's Gary Longwell will move up to the full squad from the Ireland A team and his place on the second team will be taken by Leo Cullen of Blackrock. AFP
