A suspicious device that led to the closure of Dublin’s North Brunswick Street this morning was an elaborate hoax.

The device was found near near Richmond Courthouse in Dublin's north inner city.

An army disposal team attended the scene, and gardaí closed the street from Stoneybatter to Church Street to pedestrians and traffic.

After the device was examined and declared a hoax, North Brunswick Street was re-opened.

Traffic coming from Blackhall Place and Manor Street was earlier diverted from the area, and traffic was very heavy on Queen Street and inbound from Cabra Road to Prussia Street.
