The High Court has today called for "action" from Mr Liam Lawlor and has turned down a request by his counsel to have his case adjourned for two weeks.
The Dublin West TD, recently released from a second week’s prison term in Mountjoy jail for failing to comply with the Flood tribunal, was today set to face a review of the level of his co-operation before the High Court.
Lawyers for the tribunal were due to tell Mr Justice Smyth whether they considered Mr Lawlor had complied with his order to provide the tribunal with all the financial records it wants.
But counsel for Mr Lawlor claimed they had only received affidavits from the tribunal on Saturday and therefore required a two-week adjournment.
Mr Justice Thomas Smyth refused to allow the case be delayed for a further two weeks. He granted a one-week adjournment for the hearing and warned that "more focus" was needed.
Judge Smyth urged Mr Lawlor’s counsel to take action and ordered the affidavits be delivered to his home during next weekend.
