As the fight for the Olympic Council of Ireland (OCI) presidency continues, current president Pat Hickey has been outlining his intentions, if he is to be re-elected president.

His proposal, ‘Ireland and the Olympics - The way to a better future’ was unveiled at the Shelbourne Hotel in Dublin this afternoon.

At the press conference, there were several conciliatory measures proposed especially in relation to the government. However, the main area in question surrounded the proposed change to the OCI Articles of Association. This is a debate which has been ongoing since 1989, dealing with the sensitive issue of voting.

Hickey did confirm the articles would not be changed before the crucial presidential vote on February the 15th between himself and his challenger Richard Burrows.
