Zagreb - The Croatian Foreign Minister, Mr Mate Granic, said yesterday he had quit all posts in the nationalist HDZ party founded by the late leader, Franjo Tudjman, accusing it of undermining his campaign for the presidency.

Mr Granic said he was resigning from his official functions immediately and would leave the HDZ altogether if the electorate voted him in as president later this month. Voters turned against the HDZ in droves in a parliamentary poll on January 3rd.
