A 42-year-old garda has pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to four charges of forgery and corruption in connection with the issuing of taxi plates. Oliver O'Connor, of Castleknock Way, Castlenock, and his co-accused, Pius Knowles, a 67-year-old taxi-driver with an address at Rathdown Square, Dublin, each pleaded guilty to four charges in connection with the taxi licences. O'Connor admitted two charges of forgery and two of accepting bribes of £400 and £260. Knowles pleaded guilty to two charges of forgery and two of offering bribes of £400 and £260 to O'Connor. Judge Elizabeth Dunne remanded both on bail for sentence on July 26th.
