London Irish have signed Springbok wing Pieter Rossouw on a two year contract.
Rossouw, 31, formerly of Western Province will join the Powergen Cup champions for the start of pre-season training in July where he will link up with fellow South Africa international and Irish player-coach Brendan Venter.
"Im looking forward to a fresh challenge and want to help make London Irish the best club in England," Rossouw explained.
London Irish director of rugby, Conor O'Shea, said: "We are delighted that a world class player of Pieters calibre will be part of our squad for next season.
"If we are to compete effectively in the Zurich Premiership and at the highest level in Europe, then we need the talent and experience that Pieter brings," the former Ireland full-back added.
And there were no hard feelings from Western Province about Rossouw's departure. "Pieter has been a tremendous asset to Western Province and leaves with our best wishes," said Rob Wagner, managing director of WP Rugby.
Rossouw has won 42 Test caps, scoring 21 Test tries, the first four all coming against France in 1997.
He was the leading try-score in last season's Super 12 series where his competition record stands at 95 points in 52 appearances.
Earlier this week Irish completed the signing of Leinster and Ireland lock Bob Casey and extended Chris Sheasby’s contract by a further year.
