ETA ready for peace talks

Bilbao - The Basque separatist organisation ETA, which has enforced a ceasefire since September, is ready to discuss the Basque peace process with the Spanish government, two ETA representatives said in an interview published yesterday. "We confirm that there have been contacts" between ETA and Madrid, "but for now we cannot say anything more," the pair told the nationalist dailies Gara and Egunkaria.
