Eight-year-old boy killed in Wexford crash

Gardaí appeal for witnesses to crash in rugby club car park

An 8-year-old boy was killed last night after he was struck by an SUV in Co Wexford.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the incident which took place in the car park of Enniscorthy Rugby Club at about 7.15pm.

The boy was taken by ambulance to Wexford General Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The scene of the incident remains preserved for a technical examination which will be conducted later today
