A: Yes it is possible to repeat one subject in the Leaving Cert. There are a number of formal repeat options for students to consider including: repeating in their original school if they allow it, a specialised repeat centre, a private grind school and a special repeat stream in another secondary school. Each locality offers different options.

You can also study privately and just register as an external candidate to sit the subject(s) in an exam centre of your choice by going on to the examinations.ie website and clicking on ‘registering as an external student’
