Dun Laoghaire turned festive over the weekend for a Fourth of July festival

Dun Laoghaire turned festive over the weekend for a Fourth of July festival. It was first held in 1996 when the JFK aircraft carrier visited the port.

Saturday's barbecue was followed by a fireworks display from a boat in the bay, while yesterday's parade brought out hundreds of people. In the evening there were bands a Victorian carnival on the pier, including merry-go-rounds and helter-skelters.
