Dun Laoghaire caravan fire victim named

The six-year-old girl who died following a fire in a caravan in Dun Laoghaire has been named as Joanna Connors, Garda[AC]i said today.

Joanna's mother and seven-year-old brother who were in the caravan with her when the fire broke out escaped.

Two fire engines attended the scene, in a car park behind the west pier, at 10.15 p.m. last night.

The girl's body was taken to St Colmcill's Hospital, Loughlinstown.

The scene has been preserved for technical examinaiton. Gardaí are investigating the death.
