Dublin foodies get their bible

They narrow the list to include their top 10 in the current issue of the monthly magazine, The Dubliner, but as to naming their number one favourite, they remain silent. Too difficult to answer, they say diplomatically.

Many restaurateurs turned up at the Westin Hotel this week to congratulate them and to see if they made the list.

Frenchman Bruno Berta, of Bruno's Restaurant, came along. Chef Kaushik Roy and manager, Bharat Somanna from Jaipur Restaurant on South Great George's Street came along too. They're opening another branch in Malahide next October.

Swedish sous chef, Anderf Ericsson, from The Tea Room in the Clarence Hotel, chatted to friends also.

Robbie Fox, whose latest venture, Barracuda Restaurant on the seafront in Bray, which just had its gala opening last week, was there.

Cork chef, Kevin Arundel, of Number Ten on Fitzwilliam Street Lower, says he's writing an organic booklet with the company, Bunalun, based on his recepies.

Domini Kemp and Joanne Murphy, art director of The Dubliner, are also planning their own publication. Their cookbook, Real Food, Real Fast, to be published by Merlin is due out in late Autumn.
