A woman died in hospital yesterday after she and a teenage girl were struck by a silver 4x4 vehicle in Co Wexford earlier this week.
The two female cyclists were struck on the New Line Road, around 2km outside Wexford town, at approximately 7.40pm on Monday.
The woman died in Wexford General Hospital as a result of her injuries.
The other cyclist, a 16-year-old girl, has been discharged from hospital.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the incident to contact Wexford Garda Station on 053-9165200, or the Garda confidential line on 1800 666 111.
Meanwhile, the PSNI has launched an appeal for information following a two-car collision which led to the deaths of two young men at the weekend.
The crash took place at Ardess Crossroads on Manoo Road in Kesh, Co Tyrone, on Sunday afternoon. The 22-year-old driver of one of the cars was pronounced dead at the scene. A 26-year-old passenger in the same car died in hospital on Monday evening.
A couple and two children in the other car were also injured and taken to Erne Hospital.
