Offaly's Vinny Claffey has announced his retirement from inter-county football after 17 years on the Faithful's panel.

Offaly's Vinny Claffey has announced his retirement from inter-county football after 17 years on the Faithful's panel.

The Doon clubman played a crucial role in his county's Leinster championship win in 1997, as well as their League title win the following year.

His last game in the green and gold was last Saturday's All-Ireland SFC qualifier defeat to Roscommon.
