A Briton is fighting for his life after being attacked and seriously injured by three robbers in southern Cambodia.

A Briton is fighting for his life after being attacked and seriously injured by three robbers in southern Cambodia.

Mr James Harryman (24) was riding a rented motorbike in the port city of Sihanoukville when he was ambushed by three attackers. They stabbed him with a knife and hit him on the head with an axe.

The Cambodia Dailyreports the victim was rescued by villagers and later taken to Calmette hospital in the capital, Phnom Penh, where he is in a critical condition.

Police are looking for the attackers, who allegedly stole the motorbike Mr Harryman was riding.

A British Embassy official confirmed the report but declined to comment further.
