Search teams looking for a man seen entering Belfast’s River Lagan found a body today.

The body was recovered near the Lagan Weir section of the river this afternoon.

The discovery brings to an end a two-day search operation which got underway after it was reported that a man went into the water at Queens Bridge in the early hours of Monday morning.

Police, the Coastguard and the RNLI were all involved in the search.

A spokeswoman for the PSNI said officers were not treating the man's death as suspicious.
