Armed raiders who threatened the crew of a security company loading an ATM with money escaped empty-handed after a device inside one of the money boxes exploded, spraying pink dye over one of them.
The raiders threatened the two G4S security company workers with a handgun as they were servicing the ATM at a disused AIB branch at the High Street- Bridge Street junction in Dublin just after 7am.
While they grabbed a number of boxes, the pink dye device exploded, covering one of the raiders. It later emerged the boxes the men escaped with were empty.
