A quantity of ammunition was seized by police on Tuesday following house searches in East Belfast

A quantity of ammunition was seized by police on Tuesday following house searches in East Belfast. The RUC said several men were arrested and are now being questioned about serious crime. It is understood that the arrests relate to a so-called punishment beating at Constance Street in East Belfast early on Sunday morning in which two men were assaulted. One of the injured is in a critical condition in hospital.
