Appeal over Finglas shooting

 

Gardaí investigating a shooting in Finglas, Dublin on Thursday have appealed to the public for information about a suspected getaway car.

A man remains in a critical condition in hospital following the shooting which happened shortly after 8.30pm outside An Cappagh Nua pub on Barry Road.

The man (40) was standing outside the pub when a dark coloured Volkswagen estate car with a 98 D registration drove towards him. The front seat passenger got out and fired at least four shots into his victim’s upper body.

The gunman got back into the car which was driven off in the direction of Barry Avenue,

The car was located by gardai in the Charlestown area of Finglas last night.

The victim, who is from the Finglas area, was conscious when taken from the scene to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown.
