Washington - A chimpanzee named Marilyn has helped to confirm that the AIDS virus first passed into people from chimps, researchers at the University of Alabama said yesterday. Dr Beatrice Hahn, writing in the science journal Nature, said genetic tests show the HIV virus was closely related to a virus that infected chimpanzees but did not make them sick.
