Mr Adams will meet MPs, Irish community representatives, trade unions and academics.

The event will be chaired by Labour MP Diane Abbott and follows two conferences in the United States earlier this summer on the question.

It will lay out plans for a major conference in London in mid-February, seeking to involve broad sections of society, a Sinn Féin spokesman confirmed.
