French Golf Apartments: A new development of apartments 10kms southwest of Rennes in Brittany are being offered to Irish buyers costing from €300,000 to €350,000. Cicé Blossac Golfing Village will overlook a 280-acre golf course on one side and the River Vilaine on the other when it is built in the village of Bruz, Brittany.

The 110-128sq m (1,100-1,300sq ft) apartments, due to be ready by May 2007, will be fully fitted out. Developer Eagle Flag, a UK-based company with Irish directors Brendan Flynn and Paul Murray, is selling the apartments on a sale and leaseback basis.

Buyers are being offered a guaranteed return of 5 per cent per year for nine years, as well as six weeks' free use of their apartment.

In all, there will be 144 apartments in the development, where building work is just beginning. It is being sold though agent Mason Estates in Dublin and Twomey & Spillane in Youghal, Co Cork.

Cicé Blossac will be the venue for a gourmet golf event from Saturday May 6th to Tuesday May 9th aimed at raising funds for cancer research.

Money raised by Le Gastronomique golf event, organised by charity Biobank Ireland along with the golf resort's developers, will be spent on setting up anti-cancer hospital research biobanks in Dublin, Cork, Galway and other centres.
