Wear it out: winter layers

Megan McGuigan's winter layers are so on trend. We are loving the mix of greys with a pop of colour.

1. Coat

The boyfriend fit is a very popular style this year. We now have boyfriend jeans, boyfriend jumpers and boyfriend coats... soon our whole wardrobes will be boyfriend inspired. This gorgeous coat reminds me of the amazing costumes from the show Peaky Blinders and is a steal at €25. Tweed is eternally stylish so is a great addition to any wardrobe.

2. Cardigan

Zara are top of their game when it comes to knitwear. In the past few years, their clean designs have been a breath of fresh air on an often over- designed high street. With their help, we can now have a designer look for a fraction of the price.

3. Dress

Topshop are nailing it again with this perfect wardrobe staple the ribbed jumper dress. It comes in a range of colours which is great for all tastes. A good fitted jumper dress will keep you lovely and warm and wont look too bulky. Burgundy will provide that much needed bit of colour in our winter wardrobes.

4. Boots

If you are looking to invest in one pair of shoes that will last for the rest of your life, Dr Martens are your man. This bulletproof pair of shoes will work all year round. I would recommend buying them new but preparing yourself for the substantial “breaking in” period. A good trick is to get them stretched in a cobblers, this will do the work so your feet don’t have to.
