Randy Newman cancels two Dublin concerts

The veteran singer-songwriter has been forced to pull out of his European tour

Veteran singer-songwriter Randy Newman has been forced to cancel his European tour, which included two Irish dates, due to a knee condition.

The 74-year-old had been due to play Dublin’s Vicar Street on March 9th and 10th.

However, in a statement on Wednesday, Aiken Promotions said: "Randy Newman today announced that he has had to cancel his forthcoming European tour due to a severe knee condition for which he has to undergo surgery.

“The European tour included two dates at Vicar Street on 9th and 10th March which are now cancelled.”

The singer himself said: “I feel terrible about having to cancel these dates. I was looking forward to playing. I apologise for whatever inconvenience I might have caused.”

Refunds will be available from point of purchase.
