Chemist chain expands at Fairgreen

The Sam McCauley chemist chain has embarked on a major expansion of its operation at Fairgreen shopping centre in Carlow. The group has acquired the adjoining Barretts store which will bring its overall floor area to 232sq m (2,500sq ft).

A new 10-year lease at a rent of €50,000 per annum was negotiated between Kieron Diamond of HWBC, who acted for the chemist chain, and Hugh Markey who advises the landlord.

The Fairgreen is anchored by Tesco, while the other occupiers include Easons, Next, Argos, Heatons and River Island.
