Only a week after the county's hurlers lifted the All-Ireland crown, Tipperary's dominance in the stick game will again come sharply into focus at Croke Park tomorrow when their senior and junior camogie teams contest the All-Ireland finals.
The senior side will take on Kilkenny, bidding for their third successive title. Kilkenny have shown themselves a team of great resolve, and have emerged through the back door system.
Tipperary had not won the O'Duffy Cup until the beginning of their current run in 1999.
They are notably formidable down the middle of the pitch from full back Una O'Dwyer to full forward Deirdre Hughes, the Player of the Year two seasons ago.
Hughes, along with Emer McDonnell and Noelle Kennedy, were the principals in seeing off the semi-final challenge of Cork after a replay. Tippeary panellist Moira Ryan is a sister of recent All-Ireland medallist Declan Ryan.
Kilkenny, strengthened by the return of SinΘad Millea, will be looking to the opportunism of Martina Maher and the dash of teenagers Aoife Neary and Edel Maher. A difficult one to call.
The senior final is at 3.45, and in the junior final (2.0) Offaly are Tipperary's opponents.
