Rangers have signed former West Ham and Manchester United goalkeeper Roy Carroll on a one-year contract.
Carroll was released by the Hammers at the end of last season
and the 29-year-old becomes the seventh new arrival at Ibrox this
summer.
The deal means Allan McGregor, 25, now has an experienced
rival for his place in goal. Last season saw McGregor fend off
competition from Frenchman Lionel Letizi to become the club's
number one goalkeeper.
Graeme Smith is pushed down to third choice by the move for Northern Ireland international Carroll, despite the 24-year-old arriving from Kilmarnock only last month.
