Well before the crowds start pouring into Croke Park on Sunday afternoon, the AIB All-Ireland Sevens tournament in the Dublin suburb of Stillorgan will have got the All-Ireland hurling weekend into full swing. The event started in 1973 and is organised by Kilmacud Crokes.
Included in this year's competition are Borris Ileagh of Tipperary, Clarecastle of Clare, Rathdowney of Laois and Buffers Alley of Wexford. All-Ireland finalists Cork will be represented by Midleton, Bishopstown, Castlelyons, Newtown Shandrum, Sarsfield and Cloyne, with Kilkenny club Mooncoin also taking part.
In addition to the main tournament, the day's event will also feature an expanded Shield and under-16 competition to increase the participation of the teams involved.
Starting at 10.30 on Saturday morning, the tournament will be played at five different locations - Kilmacud's playing fields at Glenalbyn, St Benildus College, Deerpark, Silverpark and Clonkeen College. The final will take place in Glenalbyn at 6.30 p.m.
