International duty made it a quiet week on the league front in England and Scotland, with just a few lower division matches going ahead over the weekend.

Former Longford Town midfielder Dave Savage, who has five senior Irish caps to his name, made his debut for Northampton on Saturday, following his £80,000 transfer from Millwall last week. The 25-year-old, who was brought to Millwall by Mick McCarthy in 1994, played over 150 senior games for the club but mixed form in recent months restricted him to just two appearances this season. Also likely to be on the move soon is Norwich City's Keith O'Neill who was placed on the transfer list last week after failing to agree a new contract. O'Neill has been out of action since picking up an injury in the opening minutes of the game against Croatia at Lansdowne Road last month, but is expected to be back playing in the next couple of weeks.
