Finn Harps are still seeking their first win of the season after Saturday night's north west derby against Derry City, but at least Charlie McGeever's team managed to secure their first point thanks to a late goal from James Mulligan.

Finn Harps included new striker Stephen Doherty in their starting line-up, but the Scot looked unfit and was substituted after 40 minutes when Finn Harps introduced Jonathan Speak.

By that stage the home side had fallen behind to a 33rd minute goal from Derry's Johnny McIvor.

Finn Harps levelled the match in the 80th minute. A deep cross from the right was fumbled by David Platt and James Mulligan was on hand to tap in the loose ball.

FINN HARPS: McKenna, Vaudequin, Minnock, Boyle, Dykes, McGrenaghan, Mohan, McMillan, Doherty, Mulligan, Kenny. Subs: Speak for Doherty (40 mins), Harkin for McMillen (66 mins), McHugh for Kenny (80 mins).

DERRY CITY: Platt, McCallion, Gallagher, Hutton, Kelly, Moran, Doherty, Hegarty, McCaul, Beckett, McIvor. Subs: McLaughlin for Gallagher (49 mins), Gilmour for McIvor (66 mins).

Referee: P McKeown (Dublin).
