GALWAY UNITED - 0 LONGFORD TOWN - 2Two goals from Fergal Coleman ensured maximum points for Longford Town against Galway United at Terryland Park last night.

Longford Town's Stuart Holt unleashed a 30-yard free-kick after 23 minutes which Mark Cobey did well to parry. Before the interval United's Colin Fortune took a free kick which was met by the inrushing Mark Herrick who shot weakly at Stephen O'Brien in the Longford goal.

Longford took the lead in the 62nd minute when Marc Byrne's shot was not held by Cobey and Coleman steered home from three yards. The second arrived in the 84th minute when Alan Kirby's right-wing cross was powerfully headed home by Coleman. Galway's Mark Herrick was sent off in the 55th minute.
