‘No worries’

Sir, – Ronan Murphy (January 5th) hopes that in 2018 he will no longer hear the response “no worries” when he thanks someone.

This phrase, the unofficial national motto of Australia, represents the friendliness, good humour, optimism and mateship of Aussie culture.

To ease Mr Murphy’s pain, could it please be translated into Irish?

If not, no worries, mate! – Yours, etc,

Dr JOHN DOHERTY,

Vienna.
