Sir, – Your headline stating that the HSE is to get an integrated financial software system is reported as a good news story, and so it may be, to a degree ("HSE to get integrated software system 14 years after idea proposed", August 7th).
What of the much greater need for adequate and appropriate clinical software? The upgrading of the current national hotchpotch of incompatible software and manual patient-filing systems across our health service must surely be a much greater priority. Current systems increase clinical risk and waste money.
