Breakdown in communications

Sir, – I find it somewhat ironic that in this much vaunted age of sophisticated telecommunications systems, hardly a day goes by without an RTÉ Radio 1 presenter in Montrose having to abruptly end an interview with someone in the next parish because of “the poor quality of the line”. To be fair,even the likes of Newstalk and BBC Radio 4 suffer the same problem.

So much for so-called state of the art technology. Yours, etc,
