Sir, – How can the Government go to bed at night knowing that homeless figures are the highest ever? They have brought in legislation that has only enriched corporate landlords and have done nothing in reality to stop no-fault evictions.

Rents are extortionate everywhere and really have not been controlled in any effective way. Short-term lets have not been regulated. Nothing significant has been done to address this issue.

We are apparently awash with money. Why can the housing issue not be addressed as an absolute priority for the Government? Is it because fewer unhoused people vote? – Yours, etc,
