Sir, – I was not surprised to be reminded that the planning and discussions regarding a rail link between Dublin Airport and Dublin city centre have been going on for over 20 years. In that time, the budgeted cost has also gone through the roof. This led me to ponder about our inability to begin and finish large projects on time and on budget.
If a snail had started crawling from the airport to the city centre 20 years ago, would it have reached there by now? – Yours, etc,
