Gardaí are investigating the cause of a fire at a house in Co Sligo in the early hours of this morning in which a 38-year-old woman lost her life.
The fire which was discovered at the house in Marren Park, Ballymote, at approximately 5.45am.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. There were no other occupants in the house.
The woman's body remains at the scene and is expected to be removed to Sligo General Hospital later this morning.
Gardaí in Ballymote, Co Sligo are investigating the circumstances surrounding the fire. The scene is currently preserved pending a technical examination.
