US forces launched a "precision strike" on a building of Fallujah claiming it was a center were up to 20 militants were training for attacks.

"Multi-National Force-Iraq conducted a precision strike against a building where 15 to 20 anti-Iraqi force personnel were conducting military-style training on the outskirts of Fallujah," the US military said in a statement.

"Intelligence sources confirmed that anti-Iraqi forces were at this position to conduct training in order to disrupt the efforts of local Iraqi security forces, as well as to harass the local populace."

US forces have mounted repeated air strikes on Fallujah to try to target militants linked to Jordanian militant Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, Washington's most-wanted man in Iraq.
