UEFA is investigating reports of crowd violence during Italy's Euro 2004 qualifier against Wales in Milan last Saturday.

The Fottball Association of Wales said it had written to UEFA expressing "concerns" about the stadium arrangements in Milan and the poor behaviour of the Italian fans in the tier above the Welsh.

The FAW also said it was disappointed that recommendations made to the Italian authorities about keeping rival fans well apart were not followed.

Wales fans complained they had objects thrown at them by Italy supporters from a sector directly above theirs and that police did not take appropriate action.
