Two men have been arrested in connection with a stabbing in Cork yesterday.

Two men have been arrested in connection with a stabbing in Cork yesterday.

The men, one in his early 50s and the other in his late 30s, are being held at Mayfield and Gurranabraher Garda stations.

The arrests follow the stabbing of a man in his 30s yesterday afternoon.

The victim, who is in a critical condition, was found unconscious on the roadside at Kerryhall Road in Fairhill at around 2.30pm.

He was taken to Cork University Hospital. Gardai have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
